Coarse-Grained Locking Service: “Coarse-grained” refers to the level of granularity at which a locking mechanism operates. In a coarse-grained locking service, locks are applied over larger chunks of data or resources, meaning that when a lock is acquired, it secures a broad set of resources or a large portion of data at once. This is in contrast to “fine-grained” locking, where locks are applied to very small, specific pieces of data, allowing for more concurrent operations but requiring more sophisticated management to avoid deadlocks and other concurrency issues.
